There are several financial institutions doing business in the Virgin Islands which include First Bank, the Bank of Nova Scotia, First Liberty Mortgage Co, Clarion Mortgage Capital, and Coastal Financial Company. Interest rates are slightly higher than those in the States and the normal down payment is 20 to 30 percent.
